We live in a ski town and use them daily, and we leave them plugged in overnight, use them in the AM to warm the boots. Yes, you do have to put them in two locations: Insert them down to the toe to dry the foot bed, then vertically to dry the cuff when it is a powder day. No big deal. Have had ours for six years, and give them as gifts. The heat is a bit much to wrap your hand around the heater for very long, but not by much. It is a slow steady heat.DG.
