My mother initially ordered the black/white Off To Paris shoes for herself, but she has quite narrow feet and they were not comfortable for her. I adopted them and with a Dr. Scholl's cushion in the back, they are amazingly comfortable. I also slipped in a thin gel insole for added cushioning since I walk a lot in these shoes (a lot = around town, half-mile to two miles at a time). With my narrow heel though the cushion was essential since without it the shoe rubbed too much. I don't know if it is recommended, but I hand washed these shoes and the black did not fade. These are favorites and each time I would wear them, whether with a casual dress, skirt, or jeans, I would receive many flattering comments.The only reason this item received four stars instead of five is because I needed to add the Dr. Scholl's insoles and narrow heel cushioning in order to make them the most comfortable shoes EVER!
